rededication at shea memorial grove & grand reopening of shea naval aviation museum

On Saturday June 14th, Flag Day, the ANA Patriot Squadron held a ceremony at the Shea Memorial Grove at Union Point (old NAS South Weymouth) to rededicate the recently restored A-4B Skyhawk jet and the large blue and gold signs at the park.

Afterwards, everybody was invited to the grand reopening of the Shea Naval Aviation Museum at its new venue in the former Coast Guard Housing Office Building located behind the soccer fields at the Union Point Sports Complex.

The keynote speaker at the park was retired US Navy Vice Admiral Wally Massenburg.

Author Wayne Miller of the Quincy Historical Society attended to sign copies of his recent book "Birdmen Over Boston Harbor" at the museum.
